Hiking Guide Galapagos

Hiking: Mainland and island hikes, some over rough and uneven terrain, with trails sometimes crossing lava fields or slippery rocks.

Snorkeling: A major component of this trip, with nearly daily excursions. Participants should be comfortable swimming in moderate currents and deep water.
Kayak Activities
Kayaking: 3-5 opportunities to kayak, typically 1-2 hours each, with safety supervision by two guides and a support boat. Kayaks have a combined weight limit of 450 pounds for two people.

Elevation Considerations

The first two nights are spent in Quito at an altitude of 9,400 feet, which may cause altitude-sickness symptoms like headaches, dizziness, and nausea. We recommend hydrating and resting to manage these effects. Consult your doctor if you’re concerned about altitude sickness and would like to bring medication.

Custom or Private Departures

For private or smaller group trips, we provide a tailored experience based on your group size. Depending on the number of passengers, we will assign either 1 or 2 guides to ensure the best experience.

Essential Trip Information

The Galapagos Islands are an unmatched destination for nature travelers. With an abundance of friendly and unique wildlife, this journey offers an incredible opportunity to experience nature’s wonders up close. NemoFleet prides itself on offering the most immersive and intimate Galapagos adventure available. Our small group size, one of the lowest guide-to-guest ratios in the Galapagos, ensures a personalized and enriching experience for every traveler.

Our catamaran, Nemo II, accommodates around 12 guests & Nemo III, accommodates around 16 guests, led by our guides and supported by a dedicated sailing crew. This trip includes daily opportunities for kayaking, snorkeling, and hiking, providing a well-rounded and active experience of the Galapagos’ stunning flora and fauna.

Please note: The itinerary is subject to change due to factors beyond our control. In such cases, we will offer the best available alternatives.

Age Limit for Kayaking Trips

We recommend a minimum age of 12 years for this adventure due to the physical demands of the activities. However, parents or guardians are encouraged to assess whether their child is suited to the trip without affecting the group’s experience. Children under seven are not permitted on scheduled departures for safety and group dynamics reasons.

Mandatory Insurance

Due to the remote nature of the destinations we visit, all travelers are required to have medical evacuation insurance, with at least $250,000 in coverage. This ensures everyone’s safety. We also highly recommend comprehensive travel insurance, which can cover medical treatment, trip cancellations, delays, and lost luggage.

Getting There & Getting Home

  • Arrival: Plan to arrive in Quito anytime on Day 1.
  • Departure: You are free to depart from Quito after 9 pm on the final day.

For the most seamless experience, we encourage you to book your travel through NemoFleet’s travel desk, as we are familiar with the unique logistics of this program. We can arrange efficient flights and additional accommodation if needed. Please note that while we aim to offer the best rates, you may find special fares online.
